Dive site description:
The hardest part of this dive was the long walk down a trail and across the sand to the water probally about 100 to 120 yards but wasnt that bad. The entry is easy, sandy walk in. The current moves fairly strong here and it is best to dive on the low tide. I was in the water about 20 mins before low and the bottom fell away about 20ft from the shore and dropped down to 40ft very rapidly. There is a rocky wall running east to west here with a sandy bottom. I got one keeper crab here but have been told that the crabbing is usually very good. Vis was about 2 to 3 ft at best so I think under better conditions it would be a much nicer dive. I will definitly have to try on a better dove this 12/27/03 and conditions were not very pleasant.
Directions:
Drive south on hwy 101 to the south side of the Waldport bridge. drive about .8 miles past the bridge and turn toward the water on Waziyata ave. You will see a little trail going down to the beach. Parking here is on the side of a very narrow road, but not too many people here.
