Dive site description: This is a small, beautiful, clear blue-green lake on Mt. Hood, near Timothy Lake. This lake is a tiny body of water, maybe 80 feet around, and 35 feet deep at most. The water from the surface is extremely beautiful, and once putting my mask under water I was surprised at the clarity of it. Every direction I looked, I could see the sandstone sides of the lake, and the silty bottom. There were a number of small holes where water from the volcanic aquifer bubbles in. A few small fish were the only signs of life I could find. A number of slender logs littered the bottom, giving the small lake something to break the visual monotony. After a short time in this cold water, my hands and face went numb and I started to chill and exited the water. |
