December 25, 2006 On Christmas day, we had Scott's extended family over for a very nice party. His parents came over, along with his brother Kevin and sister Kim and their families. We had a White Elephant gift exchange that was a lot of fun and brought much laughter and smiles.
Everyone brought lots of delicious food, which we nibbled on all day. We played Balderdash, and some of the kids played ping-pong and some computer games.

November 9 - November 11, 2006 Our family travelled to Edmonton, Alberta Canada with the Edwards family. We spent our time at the Edmonton Mall. This is the second largest mall in the world with over 800 stores. Since we are not big shoppers, we spent a whole day at the most awesome water park ever! There is a wave pool that has ocean-sized waves where you surf or bob recklessly on innertubes. Plus, there are many water slides from novice to insane, and a couple of hot tubs (where you could find Becky if you had lost her).
The kids went on rides at the indoor amusement park. We ate at yummy restaurants. The weather outside was frightful! I don't think that it ever got above 20 degrees fahrenheit. With the windchill factor, whoa baby was it ever cold!

August 12 - July 20, 2006 As we do most every year, we went camping at Cultus Lake, by Mt. Bachelor with some of Becky's family members. The weather was great the whole week, though it got a big chilly at night.
The weekend days were a bit uncomfortable, as a bunch of obnoxious teenages were there with blaring stereos on their boats. During the week, however, it was much quieter.
We did a lot of swimming, jumping on the huge floating trampoline, napping, eating, hiking, scuba, boating, floating and reading.
On Thursday afternoon, Corey was jumping on the trampline with a lot of others, and someone's foot swung around and kicked him in the face pretty hard. It split his cheek open, and knocked him out for a few seconds. We got him to shore and cleaned him up. Marissa was a big help, running for paper towels and bandages, as we got him dried off and dressed for a drive to the hospital in Bend. He got 13 stitches in his cheek. While we were there, our friend Basia met us at the hospital (where she was working at the time). We spent the night with her, as it was too late to drive back to the camp.
Basia joined us for camping Saturday and Sunday. I took her for a short scuba dive, which she seemed to enjoy, in the grassy area in front of camp.
